China is among the countries with the richest plant diversity, with more than 37,000 species of known higher plants, which account for about 10 percent of the global total. 

The China National Botanical Garden is home to over 17,000 plant species, including nearly 1,000 rare and endangered ones. The South China National Botanical Garden has introduced more than 1,100 plant species since 2022. It now houses a total of over 17,500 conservative plant species, ranking among the top five globally. 

When we are experiencing a prolonged heatwave with extreme temperatures, it’s time we could visit the botanical gardens to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of nature.
