The 4th Tonghua Mountain Wine Region Summit Forum and 2019 Ji'an Yalu River Valley Ice Wine Festival opened yesterday in Ji'an, Jilin Province, China.

Ji'an is located at the southern foot of Changbai Mountain and is suitable for planting mountain grapes, which have been cultivated locally for 40 years. The annual output is about 20,000 tons. It is an important part of the Tonghua production area. Tonghua wine is produced using local mountain grapes. Arctic Red is currently the only grape variety in the world that can directly produce red ice wine. 

At present, Tonghua has developed more than 150 varieties of grapes; its products have successively won various awards at home and abroad and are exported to more than 30 countries and regions. Recently, the production area has been named the world's specialty wine production area.
