Imported alcoholic beverage continues its upward trend in China

China Chamber of Commerce reports from January to May of 2021, the imported alcoholic beverage continues its upward trend: the import volume is 1.08 billion liters, the import volume is 2.1 billion US dollars, and the cumulative volume increase is about 10% more than that from January to April.

Among the main wine and spirits categories, the volume of spirits continued to rise, its total amount exceeded wine to become the largest imported alcoholic drinks.

Among spirits category, brandy accounted for about 64.3% of the total import of spirits while whiskey accounted for 19.5%.

The main sources of spirits import were France and Britain, accounting for nearly 80% of the market share.
