Chinese buy rare wines and spirits

Global wine merchant BI Fine Wine & spirits said the rare wines and spirits purchased by Chinese buyers in March this year contributed to a 25% jump in sales in Asia.

Asia accounted for 60% of BI's total sales in March, which is 20% higher than the region's previous sales during this period. The top Burgundy wineries still have strong market demand and sales of rare whiskies also have increased due to Asian demand for Scotch and American whiskies.

President of BI mentioned it was a very encouraging sign that Chinese consumption confidence was recovering.
